Who we are

Swing First Golf was founded in 2004 by lifelong friends Dave Ashton and Jeff Lundgren, who set out to build something they genuinely enjoy, both as operators and as golfers. What began with a single course has grown into a collection of clubs across Arizona, each shaped by the same hands-on approach and shared vision. From day one, the goal has been simple: build a healthy business, improve each property, and enjoy the process along the way.

Our structure is intentionally simple. We invest thoughtfully, make decisions together, and stay closely involved in the day-to-day realities of each club. Dave leads acquisitions, finance, and development, while Jeff works directly with club leaders to guide operations and elevate performance. That partnership—built on decades of friendship—extends throughout our organization, where empowered leaders and small, collaborative teams are at the core of how we operate.

At every Swing First club, the focus is on creating places people truly want to be. We believe great golf communities start with great courses, but are defined by the people who bring them to life. By listening, improving, and sharing what we learn across our clubs, we aim to deliver better experiences for both our teams and our guests. Above all, we’re committed to building welcoming, personal, and always evolving clubs—places where everyone feels they belong.
